Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive school setting in the Corby area.

This rewarding role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting pupils in managing emotions and behaviour within the classroom
  • Building positive relationships and promoting student wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs or mental health challenges
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
  • Relevant experience in education, care, youth work, psychology, or support work is desirable
