Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking caring and committed Mental Health Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Corby and the surrounding areas. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals looking to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.

  • Assist pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies.

  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom to maximise engagement and learning.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support plans.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, care, youth work, or support setting.

  • A genuine interest in supporting mental health and wellbeing.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.
