Contract: Full-Time | Permanent Preferred (Fixed-Term Contract or Long-Term Supply Considered)
Salary: MPS-UPS / Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a secondary school in Northampton seeking to appoint a dedicated Food Technology Teacher from September 2026. The school is ideally looking for a permanent appointment; however, fixed-term contracts or long-term supply arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.

The Role
Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teaching practical cooking skills, nutrition, food science, and health & safety
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices
Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment
Working collaboratively with departmental staff and wider school teams
Contributing to the continued development of the Food Technology curriculum
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS or is working towards Qualified Teacher Status
Has strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, Hospitality & Catering, or a related field
Is confident managing practical lessons in a busy classroom environment
Demonstrates strong organisation and classroom management skills
Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to student progress
Has a passion for delivering engaging and inclusive learning experiences
Previous experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable
