Salary: £100-£160 per day (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified Science Teacher to join its team from September 2026. The school is ideally looking to make a permanent appointment, although fixed-term and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.

This opportunity would suit a Science graduate, experienced Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Tutor, or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience while developing their teaching skills.

The Role

• Deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 using pre-planned and department resources
• Support students in developing their understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of different learners
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback where appropriate
• Work closely with the Science department to support curriculum delivery
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in training opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

• Has strong Science knowledge, ideally supported by a Science-related degree or qualification
• Has previous experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring capacity
• Is confident leading a classroom and engaging students in learning
• Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills
• Has a genuine passion for education and student success
• Is keen to develop professionally and potentially progress towards teacher training
