Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a fantastic school in Northampton, seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their successful team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire secondary-aged students through the teaching of English within a supportive and ambitious school environment. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for literature and language, high expectations for student achievement, and the ability to engage and motivate learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum, helping students develop their literacy, communication and critical thinking skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons.
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
• Monitoring, assessing and tracking student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
• Supporting students of all abilities and adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Promoting high standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement.
• Contributing to curriculum development and the continued success of the English department.
• Taking part in enrichment activities and contributing to the wider life of the school.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• A good honours degree in English or a related subject.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of English.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
• Evidence of recent and relevant professional development.
