Design and Technology Teacher - Exciting Opportunity in Wellingborough

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Wellingborough seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join their successful department. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical understanding of design and manufacturing processes.

The Role:

  • Teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at Key Stage 5

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

  • Create a safe and stimulating learning environment within workshops and classrooms

  • Encourage innovation, creativity, and independent learning

  • Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject

  • Experience teaching DT, including areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A commitment to raising achievement and inspiring young people
