Are you an experienced SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work from September?
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a range of mainstream and specialist schools across Corby and is looking to recruit dedicated SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs. We have opportunities available to suit your lifestyle, including long-term positions, short-term contracts and day-to-day supply.
As an SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Working alongside class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and other additional needs.
- Using a variety of communication and intervention strategies, including PECS, Makaton, visual timetables and sensory approaches where appropriate.
- Promoting positive behaviour through consistent behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Assisting with personal care where required.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant SEN support experience.
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Are patient, caring and adaptable.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
