Job Coach (Further Education)

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading Further Education provider to recruit a dedicated Job Coach. This opportunity is available on either a temporary-to-permanent or permanent basis for the right candidate.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners as they transition from education into the workplace, helping them develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to achieve sustained employment.

The Role

As a Job Coach, you will support students undertaking work placements and supported internships, providing tailored coaching both in college and within employer settings. Working collaboratively with curriculum staff, employers and external agencies, you will help learners achieve their personal and employment goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting learners during work placements and supported internships.
  • Delivering one-to-one job coaching and workplace training.
  • Completing vocational profiling to identify learners' strengths, aspirations and suitable employment pathways.
  • Liaising with employers to source, develop and maintain meaningful work placement opportunities.
  • Supporting learners to develop employability skills, workplace behaviours, communication and independence.
  • Providing in-work support, gradually reducing assistance as learners become more independent.
  • Working alongside employers to implement reasonable workplace adjustments where required.
  • Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records in line with funding and college requirements.
  • Working closely with tutors, curriculum teams, families and external agencies to ensure positive learner outcomes.
  • Encouraging learners to progress into sustained paid employment wherever possible.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Experience supporting young people or adults within Further Education, employability, supported employment, apprenticeships or vocational learning.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence managing multiple learner caseloads.
  • Experience working with employers or within workplace environments is highly desirable.
  • A positive, proactive and person-centred approach.

Essential Requirements

  • Full Right to Work in the UK with no restrictions for the foreseeable future (this position is unable to offer visa sponsorship).
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to travelling between employer sites.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
