The Role

As a Social Sciences Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Social Science subjects, including Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, and/or Health and Social Care, depending on your specialism and experience.

  • Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical, and research skills.

  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports student progress and achievement.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student attainment, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their potential.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the department through enrichment activities and curriculum development.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic excellence.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching one or more Social Science subjects at secondary or post-16 level.

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for their subject area.

  • Be committed to raising achievement and supporting students of all abilities.

  • Possess strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Be enthusiastic, organised, and motivated to contribute to the success of the department.
