Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in the Corby area. As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development. Working closely with pastoral teams, teachers, parents, and external agencies, you will help create a positive and inclusive environment where students can thrive.

The Role:

  • Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students across the school.

  • Build positive relationships with students to promote engagement and wellbeing.

  • Support students who may be facing social, emotional, behavioural, or attendance challenges.

  • Monitor attendance and work with families to improve student engagement.

  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student support plans.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, or support setting.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.

  • A proactive and supportive approach to student wellbeing.

  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
