Teaching Assistant - Kettering

Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, a recent graduate considering a career in education, or someone with transferable experience working with children or young people, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' learning and development. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all pupils can succeed.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs

  • Helping to prepare learning resources and classroom materials

  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Promoting a safe and supportive learning environment

Teaching Assistants are key members of the school team, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and make progress both academically and socially.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (preferred but not essential)

  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

  • A desire to make a real difference in education
