We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Kettering that is seeking a dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider support team to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of SEN needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.

About the Role:

As a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support within the classroom, working with individual pupils and small groups to meet their specific learning and developmental needs. You will help create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN both in and out of the classroom

  • Delivering targeted interventions and implementing individual support strategies

  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils' emotional and social development

  • Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines

  • Promoting independence, confidence, and engagement in learning

  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support pupil progress

Who We're Looking For:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about inclusive education
