We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Kettering that is seeking a dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider support team to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of SEN needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
As a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support within the classroom, working with individual pupils and small groups to meet their specific learning and developmental needs. You will help create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with SEN both in and out of the classroom
Delivering targeted interventions and implementing individual support strategies
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils' emotional and social development
Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines
Promoting independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support pupil progress
Who We're Looking For:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about inclusive education
