About the Role

The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced applicants. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students while helping them achieve their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement.

  • Contribute to the wider success of the English department and school community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • The ability to inspire and engage learners of all abilities.

  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress.
