Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Corby area. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will provide both academic and emotional support to students, helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.
The Role:
Supporting students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom.
Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and attendance.
Assisting with emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
Providing one-to-one and small group interventions.
Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, youth work, care, or support settings.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively.
A genuine passion for supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
