Student Support Officer - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in the Corby area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with students, teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students across the school.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and engagement in learning.

  • Support students with attendance, wellbeing, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.

  • Work with vulnerable learners, including those with SEMH needs, SEND, or additional support requirements.

  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and school staff to ensure consistent support for students.

  • Monitor student progress and contribute to intervention plans where required.

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care, or support setting.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
