Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a successful and supportive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a dedicated Health & Social Care Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

The Role

As a Health & Social Care Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, helping students develop a strong understanding of health, social care practices, and the skills required for future study and employment within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Health & Social Care across KS4 and KS5

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' knowledge and understanding of health, wellbeing, and care provision

  • Support students in developing the skills needed for further education and careers within the health and social care sector

  • Prepare students for coursework, assessments, and examinations through effective guidance and support

  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and motivated

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development, and enrichment opportunities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice and improve student outcomes

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Health & Social Care

  • Experience teaching at secondary level, particularly KS4 and KS5 (desirable)

  • Ability to deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to supporting students' academic progress and personal development

  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider school community

  • Suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
