Science Technician | Secondary School | September 2026 |
A successful secondary school in Hounslow is looking to recruit a dedicated Science Technician to support its busy Science department from September 2026. This is a full-time position, working five days per week for approximately one term, with an excellent chance of the role continuing beyond the initial placement.
This opportunity is ideal for a graduate from a Russell Group University who enjoys practical science and would like to gain experience within a school environment.
About the Role
As a Science Technician, you will ensure practical lessons run smoothly by preparing equipment, maintaining laboratory resources and supporting teaching staff with experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare practical equipment and materials for lessons.
Maintain laboratories to a safe and organised standard.
Carry out routine equipment checks and stock control.
Assist teachers during practical demonstrations where required.
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Order and monitor science consumables.
Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
Requirements
Degree from a Russell Group University.
Strong organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Interest in laboratory work and science education.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
