Science Technician | Secondary School | September 2026 |

A successful secondary school in Hounslow is looking to recruit a dedicated Science Technician to support its busy Science department from September 2026. This is a full-time position, working five days per week for approximately one term, with an excellent chance of the role continuing beyond the initial placement.

This opportunity is ideal for a graduate from a Russell Group University who enjoys practical science and would like to gain experience within a school environment.

About the Role

As a Science Technician, you will ensure practical lessons run smoothly by preparing equipment, maintaining laboratory resources and supporting teaching staff with experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare practical equipment and materials for lessons.

• Maintain laboratories to a safe and organised standard.

• Carry out routine equipment checks and stock control.

• Assist teachers during practical demonstrations where required.

• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

• Order and monitor science consumables.

• Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.

Requirements

• Degree from a Russell Group University.

• Strong organisational skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Interest in laboratory work and science education.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
