Teaching Assistant
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / January 2027

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils both academically and pastorally, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources.

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.

  • Encouraging students to engage with their learning and develop independence.

  • Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual pupil needs.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, either in education, childcare, care, youth work, or a similar setting.

  • Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic.

  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Is confident supporting pupils with a range of needs.

  • Is adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
