A primary school in Hounslow Central is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join its team on a full-time, long-term basis from November 2026, with the role running through to July 2027.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 5 class within KS2, supporting pupils as they develop their subject knowledge, confidence and independence in preparation for Year 6.

The school has an established teaching team and a focus on high expectations, positive behaviour and helping pupils make consistent progress. You'll work alongside colleagues to deliver a broad curriculum and create a classroom environment where children feel supported and ready to learn.

The Role

You'll take full responsibility for a Year 5 class, planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum and supporting pupils' academic and personal development.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
• Teaching English, maths and foundation subjects.
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting lessons to meet different learning needs.
• Establishing clear classroom routines and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Supporting pupils to develop greater independence and prepare for Year 6.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to share planning, resources and ideas.
• Maintaining effective communication with the wider school team.

Who Should Apply?

You'll need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Primary teaching experience, ideally within KS2.
