Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools in Daventry. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, can adapt quickly to new environments and is confident maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes of secondary-aged students during the short-term absence of their usual teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task and complete the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising students across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans and resources.

• Maintaining positive behaviour and ensuring classroom expectations are followed.

• Building positive relationships with students and encouraging engagement with learning.

• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and fairly.

• Providing clear instructions and support to help students complete their work.

• Adapting to different classrooms, subjects and school environments throughout the day.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, youth work or similar setting.

• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence.

• Confident communication and relationship-building skills.

• The ability to adapt quickly to new environments and different groups of students.

• A calm, patient and proactive approach.

• Good organisation and the ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.

• A genuine interest in supporting young people and their education.

Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential for candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable skills and confidence working with young people.
