We are currently recruiting for a School Administrator to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Daventry, with an immediate start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to secure a long-term position within education, with the potential for a permanent appointment.
Role Overview
As a School Administrator, you will be an important part of the school's administrative team, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. You will regularly liaise with students, parents, staff, and visitors, acting as a professional and approachable first point of contact.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Managing reception and front office duties, including welcoming visitors and answering telephone enquiries
Responding to emails and general enquiries from parents, students, and staff
Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting attendance administration
Completing data entry and updating school databases and management systems
Supporting admissions, transfers, correspondence, and general school administration
Preparing documents, letters, reports, and other school communications
Using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar platforms
Supporting meetings, appointments, timetables, and administrative arrangements
Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil, family, and staff information
Supporting safeguarding procedures and following school policies and processes
Providing general administrative assistance to teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in an administrative or school office role
Secondary school experience is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, friendly, and confident when dealing with students, parents, and staff
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office, email, and administrative systems
Able to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy school environment
Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within an educational setting
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
