Lunchtime Supervisor position

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Lunchtime Support Assistant to join one of our valued mainstream primary school partners in Daventry.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils during their lunchtime and outdoor activities.

As a Lunchtime Support Assistant, you will help create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment for pupils. You will support children in the dining hall, encourage positive behaviour and social interaction, and supervise pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities.

You will work closely with teaching staff and other members of the school team to ensure children are safe, happy and supported throughout the lunchtime period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils throughout the lunchtime routine.
  • Supervising children in the dining hall and during outdoor play.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction and good manners.
  • Helping children to develop independence and confidence.
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional guidance or reassurance.
  • Ensuring pupils are safe and following school rules and expectations.
  • Responding appropriately to minor incidents and reporting concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Following safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.

  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, positive and professional.
  • Reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting children's wellbeing.
  • A willingness to work as part of a busy primary school team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Monday to Friday
11:45am - 1:15pm
