The Role

• Provide classroom support to students across KS3 and KS4, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning objectives.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and develop understanding.
• Support students with classwork, written tasks, reading, numeracy and other curriculum activities.
• Assist teachers with delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Help explain instructions and concepts to students who require additional support.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the needs and abilities of individual students.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour throughout lessons.
• Monitor students' engagement and progress, communicating relevant observations to teaching staff.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment.
• Assist with preparing and organising classroom resources and learning materials.
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage active participation in learning.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
• Has a genuine interest in supporting students' education and development.
• Is confident supporting students individually and in small groups.
• Can communicate clearly and explain learning activities in an accessible way.
• Has a proactive, patient and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• Can encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Is confident working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to helping students achieve their potential.
