Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring and reliable 1:1 Support Assistant, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in the BL3 postcode of Bolton. This is a full-time, term-time role designed to support a young pupil with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support to a child with additional learning needs in EYFS, following their Individual Education Plan (IEP).

  • Help the pupil access the EYFS curriculum, supporting development across communication, social skills, personal, emotional, literacy, and numeracy areas.

  • Assist with personal care needs (toileting, hygiene) sensitively and respectfully.

  • Observe, monitor and record progress, reporting to class teacher and SENCO to adapt support as needed.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate strategies and ensure an inclusive learning environment.

Person Specification:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) required.

  • Prior experience working with young children in EYFS, especially with children with special educational needs (SEND).

  • Strong communication skills- verbal and written, able to interact effectively with the pupil, staff, and families.

  • Empathy, patience, calmness under pressure, flexibility, and resilience.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
