Travel & Tourism Lecturer - Further Education

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Further Education college in Northampton to recruit a Travel & Tourism Lecturer to join their expanding vocational department.

This role is ideal for experienced lecturers or industry professionals looking to transition into education. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, industry-relevant lessons to learners aged 16-19 and adult students, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to progress into employment or further study. Permanent opportunities are available for the right candidate.

The Role:

As a Travel & Tourism Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of vocational programmes. You will support learners both academically and pastorally, helping them understand the realities of the travel and tourism industry while developing transferable skills such as customer service, communication, and problem-solving.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Travel & Tourism lessons

  • Teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications

  • Assessing coursework and providing constructive feedback

  • Supporting learners' progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education

  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment activities

Subjects & Units May Include:

  • The travel and tourism industry

  • Customer service in travel and tourism

  • World destinations and geography

  • Sustainable and responsible tourism

  • Marketing and promotion within the travel sector

  • Events, aviation, and hospitality pathways

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Events, or a related field

  • Industry experience within travel, tourism, aviation, or hospitality

  • Teaching experience in FE (desirable but not essential)

  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or willingness to work towards one)

  • Strong communication skills and a learner-focused approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
