Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Corby.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of mental health who is passionate about supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Assisting students in managing emotional regulation, anxiety, and challenging behaviour
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
Helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement in learning
The Ideal Candidate:
Has a strong understanding of mental health, trauma, and emotional wellbeing
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (school, care, youth work, or mental health settings all welcomed)
Calm, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
Able to build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult
Confident in managing challenging behaviour in a supportive, consistent manner
