Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (term time only)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming school in the Corby area that is looking to appoint a Mental Health Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role:
You will provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils who may be experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, or difficulties with emotional regulation. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Duties:
Providing consistent emotional and mental health support to pupils
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning
Supporting pupils to develop coping strategies and confidence
Assisting teaching staff with behaviour management and pastoral support
Working closely with SEN teams, teachers, and external agencies where appropriate
We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or mental health needs (education, care, youth work, or similar settings)
A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in mental health and child development
Relevant training or qualifications are advantageous but not essential
