About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting Mental Health Teaching Assistants to support children and young people in schools in Corby. This is a rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with mental health needs, SEMH, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to help pupils regulate emotions, access learning, and build confidence within a safe and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with mental health and emotional needs
Support students with anxiety, trauma, low mood, and behavioural challenges
Assist with emotional regulation strategies and positive behaviour support
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Support classroom learning and engagement
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with mental health, SEMH, or SEND needs
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Relevant mental health, psychology, youth work, or education experience is desirable but not essential
