Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent (Ideally) | Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply Considered
Salary: Competitive (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a Teacher of Food Technology to join their team from September 2026. The school is ideally looking for a permanent appointment, although fixed-term and long-term supply options will also be considered depending on the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons
  • Supporting students to develop knowledge in nutrition, food science, and healthy living
  • Setting clear learning objectives and regularly assessing student progress
  • Providing effective feedback to support achievement and exam preparation
  • Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and classroom organisation
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative department culture
  • Staying up to date with curriculum developments, exam requirements, and subject knowledge

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and related areas
  • Confident delivering both practical and theoretical lessons
  • Passionate about helping students succeed academically and personally
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A team player who contributes positively to school life
