Art & Design Teacher | Northampton
Start Date: June or September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent (preferred) | Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply considered
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

We're working with a secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint an Art & Design Teacher from June or September 2026. The school is ideally hoping to make a permanent appointment, but there is flexibility for fixed-term or long-term supply depending on your situation.

The Role:

  • Teaching Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 may be available depending on experience)
  • Planning lessons that allow students to work with a variety of materials, techniques, and styles
  • Supporting students in building both technical skills and their own creative approach
  • Encouraging independence, experimentation, and confidence in their work
  • Assessing progress and providing clear, useful feedback
  • Keeping the classroom or studio organised and set up for practical learning
  • Contributing to displays, coursework moderation, and department planning

What We're Looking For:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art & Design in a secondary school setting
  • Ability to deliver engaging, practical lessons across different ability levels
  • Good classroom management and organisation
  • A genuine interest in the subject and helping students improve
  • Willingness to be involved in wider school life where needed
  • ECTs are welcome and will be supported
