Unqualified Science Teacher - Northampton

Location: Northampton
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Daily Rate: £100-£160 (depending on experience and responsibilities)

We're working with secondary schools in Northampton that are looking to appoint Unqualified Science Teachers to start ASAP or in September 2026. These are full-time, long-term roles with the potential to move into permanent positions for the right candidates.

This is a great opportunity for graduates or career changers who want to build confidence in the classroom while being supported by experienced teaching staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Helping students understand key scientific concepts through clear explanations and practical activities
  • Encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and independent thinking
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour
  • Supporting with lesson preparation, marking, and basic assessment tasks
  • Taking part in school life, including training and staff support sessions

We're Looking For Candidates Who:

  • Hold a degree in a Science-related subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Science)
  • Have an interest in working in education and supporting young people
  • Are confident, approachable, and able to communicate clearly
  • Are proactive, reliable, and willing to learn on the job
  • May be considering teacher training in the future (PGCE, SCITT, or apprenticeship routes)
  • Have, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
