Teacher of Food Technology - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: June or September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent (preferred) | Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply considered
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Do you like delivering hands-on lessons where students can build confidence, independence, and an understanding of healthy living and nutrition?

We're working with a secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint a Teacher of Food Technology from June or September 2026. They would ideally like someone on a permanent basis, but they're also open to fixed-term or long-term supply depending on the right fit.

The Role:

  • Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons
  • Helping students develop skills in food preparation, nutrition, and food science
  • Setting clear expectations and monitoring student progress over time
  • Providing feedback that supports improvement and exam readiness
  • Ensuring a safe, well-organised, and positive practical learning environment
  • Working with colleagues to support a collaborative and well-run department

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong understanding of Food Technology, Food Science, or related subject areas
  • Confident delivering both practical cooking and classroom-based theory
  • Able to manage behaviour effectively in a practical setting
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to student progress
  • A team player who contributes positively to school life
  • ECTs are welcome and will be fully supported
