Art & Photography Teacher | Northampton
June or September 2026 Start | Full-Time | Permanent (Preferred) | Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply Considered

Are you an Art & Photography teacher who enjoys helping students express themselves creatively?
Do you want to work in a school where creativity is encouraged and students are supported to develop their own style and ideas?

We are looking to recruit an Art & Photography Teacher for a secondary school in Northampton, starting in June or September 2026. The school would ideally like to appoint on a permanent basis, although they are also open to fixed-term contracts or long-term supply depending on what suits the right candidate.

Whether your strengths are in Fine Art, Photography, or digital creative work, this role offers the chance to support students as they build both their technical skills and creative confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Art & Photography across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning lessons that allow students to explore a range of materials and techniques
  • Encouraging creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking
  • Supporting students in developing their portfolios and artistic skills
  • Maintaining a well-organised and engaging classroom or studio space
  • Working closely with colleagues within a supportive Art department

Who We're Looking For:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art and/or Photography in a secondary setting
  • Confident delivering practical, creative lessons
  • Good classroom management and organisation
  • Someone who is enthusiastic about the subject and student progress
  • ECTs welcome, with support available
