Technology Teacher Required | Northampton Secondary School

A secondary school in Northampton is looking for a full-time Technology Teacher to join them from June 2026 or September 2026.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive department in a school that values practical, hands-on learning and encourages students to be creative, independent thinkers.

The school would ideally like to appoint on a permanent basis, but will also consider fixed-term or long-term supply depending on the right candidate.

The Role

  • Teach Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 depending on experience)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons that develop students' skills and confidence
  • Support students through design-based projects and problem-solving tasks
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment
  • Work with colleagues to support curriculum delivery and development
  • Contribute to assessment and tracking of student progress
  • Encourage students to take pride in practical work and understand real-world applications

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Technology in a secondary school setting
  • Ability to teach at least one DT/Technology specialism confidently
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A practical, creative approach to teaching
  • Someone who enjoys working with young people and helping them achieve
