Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant - Mental Health Support

Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are looking for a committed and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Corby, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs to achieve both personally and academically.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine impact in the lives of children and young people who may face challenges around behaviour, trauma, anxiety and emotional regulation.
The Role
As part of our dedicated support team, you will:
- Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Help students develop emotional resilience, confidence and positive coping strategies
- Support behaviour for learning using restorative and trauma-informed approaches
- Assist in delivering interventions focused on wellbeing, engagement and social development
- Work alongside teachers, pastoral leads and therapeutic professionals to meet individual pupil needs
- Foster a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
- Encourage positive relationships, self-esteem and student independence
- Support pupils to re-engage with education and achieve their potential
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a genuine interest in mental health and supporting vulnerable young people
- Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships
- Has experience in education, care, youth support or a related setting (preferred but not essential)
- Understands SEMH, trauma or behaviour support approaches (desirable)
- Can respond positively to challenging situations with professionalism and empathy
- Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
