September 2026 Start | Full-Time | Maternity Cover (Fixed-Term Contract)

A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Wellingborough is seeking a Photography teacher to join their creative department from September 2026 on a maternity cover basis.

The role would suit someone with a background in Photography, Art, Media, or a related creative subject who is confident delivering engaging lessons and inspiring learners across KS3 and KS4.

The role will involve

  • Teaching Photography across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering practical photography sessions alongside digital editing work
  • Supporting students in developing ideas from initial concept through to final outcome
  • Encouraging creativity, independence, and experimentation
  • Creating a positive, structured, and inspiring classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive creative department
  • Helping students build confidence and strong portfolio work

The ideal candidate will have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Photography or a related creative subject in UK secondary schools
  • Confident use of digital editing software (e.g. Photoshop or similar)
  • Strong classroom management skills and a calm, engaging presence
  • A genuine enthusiasm for creative education and student progress
  • The ability to motivate and support learners of all abilities
