Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming Alternative Provision from September 2026.

This specialist setting supports young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school prides itself on creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment where students develop practical skills, confidence and independence.

Food Technology plays a vital role within the curriculum, providing opportunities for students to develop life skills alongside creativity, teamwork and resilience. You will deliver engaging practical and theory lessons while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Be passionate about practical learning and developing employability skills.
  • Understand or be willing to learn about SEMH and ASC.
  • Be adaptable, resilient and committed to inclusive practice.
  • Build strong relationships that motivate and inspire students.
  • Promote independence, confidence and achievement.
