Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Kettering
Start Date: September 2026 | Full-Time | Permanent Position

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kettering that is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school while making a lasting impact on pupils' educational journeys.
What the job involves:
Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
Leading whole-class lessons and small group interventions in the absence of the class teacher
Working closely with teachers to plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities
Providing targeted support for pupils who require additional assistance, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress to support attainment and development
Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Supporting the development and adaptation of learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents and external agencies where required
What we're looking for:
Previous experience working within a primary school setting
HLTA status or a relevant qualification and experience equivalent to the role
Confidence in leading lessons and supporting learning across the primary curriculum
A nurturing, patient and proactive approach to supporting children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and achieving the best outcomes for all pupils
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
