SEND Teaching Assistant - Wellingborough

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed individual who is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEND.

  • Support pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.

  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to implement tailored support strategies.

  • Encourage student engagement, independence, and positive behaviour within the classroom.

  • Assist with the delivery of interventions and personalised learning plans.

  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.

  • Experience within a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
