Design Technology Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in the Kettering area for a talented and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher seeking greater flexibility while continuing to inspire young people through creative and practical learning.

The successful candidate will join a supportive Design Technology department and deliver engaging lessons that encourage innovation, problem-solving, and technical skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Teach Design Technology in line with the national curriculum and departmental schemes of work.

  • Develop students' creativity, practical skills, and confidence in design processes.

  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND and additional learning needs.

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed during practical lessons.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and school activities as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical and creative education.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • The ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
