1:1 Teaching Assistant
Kettering, Northamptonshire
Full-Time | September 2026 Start (or sooner by agreement)

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Kettering to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional learning needs on a full-time basis.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey by providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to help the pupil access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional educational needs.

  • Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans and targeted interventions.

  • Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where required.

  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEND, is desirable.

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learners.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEND support are advantageous but not essential.
