Teacher of English - Kettering

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Kettering to recruit a committed Teacher of English for a September 2026 start. This position is ideally permanent, although a long-term contract option is available for candidates seeking more flexibility.

About the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available in some settings)
  • Inspire students to develop strong skills in reading, writing, and analysis
  • Encourage a love of literature through the study of both classic and contemporary texts
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and tracking pupil progress
  • Promote confidence in communication, creativity, and critical thinking
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced English department
  • Get involved in enrichment activities such as literacy initiatives, reading clubs, and wider school events

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS (or equivalent) in English
  • Strong subject knowledge in both English Language and Literature
  • An engaging and reflective practitioner who can motivate and challenge students
  • High expectations for behaviour, achievement, and progress
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply, with full induction, mentoring, and support available
