We are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Wellingborough that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and eager to play a key role in supporting students both academically and pastorally within a thriving secondary school.
The Role
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, including those with SEND or additional learning needs
- Help students remain engaged, focused, and motivated throughout lessons
- Support positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment
- Deliver targeted interventions to improve confidence, literacy, numeracy, and academic progress
- Provide pastoral support and encourage students' personal development and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SEND team, and parents to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed
About You
- Experience working with children or young people in education, coaching, youth work, care, or a similar setting is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a positive contribution to school life
- Considering a future career in teaching, SEND, educational psychology, or pastoral support (desirable but not essential)
