Salary: £23,071 - £24,998 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Wellingborough that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour and Inclusion Mentor from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to improving student wellbeing, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting pupils to succeed both academically and personally.
Working as part of the school's pastoral and inclusion team, you will play a key role in supporting students who may require additional guidance to fully engage with school life.
The Role
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement, attendance, and achievement
- Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for students requiring additional behavioural or pastoral support
- Support pupils in developing resilience, emotional regulation, confidence, and positive relationships
- Work proactively to reduce barriers to learning and improve student outcomes
- Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviour using restorative and inclusive approaches
- Work closely with teachers, the SEND department, pastoral leaders, and families to implement targeted support strategies
- Monitor student progress, behaviour, and attendance, maintaining accurate records where required
- Promote an inclusive school culture where every student feels valued, supported, and able to succeed
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, social care, or similar settings
- Is calm, resilient, and confident in managing challenging situations professionally
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Is passionate about inclusion, student wellbeing, and removing barriers to education
- Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral team
- Has a proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach to supporting young people
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable but not essential
