Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming secondary school in the Wellingborough area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a teaching qualification.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

The Role:

  • Deliver pre-set work across a range of secondary subjects.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Support students with their learning and encourage participation.

  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.

  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, youth work, or support setting.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Confidence leading groups of students independently.

  • A positive, adaptable, and professional attitude.

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.

  • A degree is desirable but not essential.
