SEND Teaching Assistant - Join a Supportive School Community in Wellingborough

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Wellingborough.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide tailored support both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND.

  • Assist students with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.

  • Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning strategies.

  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.

  • Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school or similar setting.

  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable but not essential.
