Cover Supervisor - Wellingborough

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in the Wellingborough area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to gain valuable experience within a school setting.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects.

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.

  • Ensuring a safe, productive, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Recording attendance and providing feedback to teaching staff.

  • Upholding safeguarding and school procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with young people in education, coaching, youth work, tutoring, or similar settings.

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Confidence leading a classroom and engaging students.

  • The ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups.

  • A proactive and professional attitude.

  • A degree is desirable but not essential.
