The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You may work with individual pupils, small groups, or support whole-class learning, helping students to remain engaged and achieve their academic goals. Teaching assistants play a vital role in supporting learning, behaviour, and student wellbeing within schools.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects
• Providing one-to-one and small group interventions
• Assisting students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback where appropriate
• Promoting safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing at all times

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, mentoring, care, youth work, or similar setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
