We are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Rushden that is seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its team on a permanent basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with additional learning needs while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking school.

The Role

• Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Working on a one-to-one basis and with small groups to improve engagement, confidence, and academic progress

• Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive and accessible lessons across the secondary curriculum

• Supporting students with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH needs, and other additional learning needs

• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day

• Adapting learning resources and teaching approaches to meet individual student needs

• Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive

• Working collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team, parents, and external professionals to provide high-quality support

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

• Is patient, compassionate, and resilient when supporting students with additional needs

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families

• Is proactive, organised, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team

• Can confidently support behaviour management in line with school policies

• Has experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)

• Is eligible to work in the UK and willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
