SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

We are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Rushden that is seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its team on a permanent basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with additional learning needs while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking school.
The Role
Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4
Working on a one-to-one basis and with small groups to improve engagement, confidence, and academic progress
Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive and accessible lessons across the secondary curriculum
Supporting students with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH needs, and other additional learning needs
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
Adapting learning resources and teaching approaches to meet individual student needs
Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive
Working collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team, parents, and external professionals to provide high-quality support

We Are Looking For Someone Who
Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Is patient, compassionate, and resilient when supporting students with additional needs
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Is proactive, organised, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
Can confidently support behaviour management in line with school policies
Has experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)
Is eligible to work in the UK and willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
