This role is designed to provide valuable classroom experience for those looking to progress into teacher training, educational psychology, pastoral support, or other education-based careers.

The Role

As part of our Step Into Teaching programme, you will gain hands-on experience supporting students and teachers within a secondary school environment. You will work across a range of subjects and year groups, developing your classroom skills while making a positive impact on students' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in lessons and helping them engage with learning
  • Delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support where required
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting student wellbeing
  • Working with students with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Gaining exposure to different teaching styles and classroom environments

The Ideal Candidate

  • A graduate or individual considering a future career in teaching
  • Passionate about working with young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to learn and develop within an educational setting
